Our story

The house was merely a box by the water when it was first purchased in 1994 by Jim and Kaye Wood. However, its potential and beauty surrounding it was undeniable. With the help of Jim Wood Company, renovations were made that included the addition of the impressive deck and large wall of windows, putting the stunning view on full display. It quickly became the place for the family to escape to—to slow down and truly be present with each other. And as the family grew, so did the property. The guest house, rooms, and beds were added in 2005 to accommodate for the family’s expanding numbers so there would always be a place for whoever came to visit. It has seen numerous family meals, heard the countless laughs and footfalls of feet heading to water, and has shared precious moments of conversation and fellowship. This house has always been treasured, and in 2023 the first family wedding was held right on the deck. It then became clear that this place had to be shared with other families for their special day.
